Do you like weddings? Do you like singing? Combine your two passions by becoming a wedding singer. It's a fun way to be a part of the wedding celebration as well as a fun way to make a living. Read on to learn how to become a wedding singer.
Instructions
- 1 Take voice lessons. Lessons will teach you breath control and proper phrasing. Voice teachers can be found in the phone book or online.
2 Study music. Music teachers of all instruments can be found in the phone book or online.
3 Perform in any recitals that your teacher organizes for the community.
4 Begin performing live. You can get gigs in bars and clubs. Call bars and clubs in your area to learn how to perform there. These are listed in the phone book.
5 Sing in neighborhood concerts. You can find the concerts listed by going online to the town websites and looking for upcoming events. Call the event organizers for more information.
6 Create a website and include clips of your performances and include your repertoire of songs. List that you are interested in playing at weddings.
7 Make business cards and hand them out at performances. Be sure to include your website. Always have several of your business cards on your person. You never know when you might make a contact that can lead to landing a gig.
8 Look for wedding organizers in your area. They can be found in the phone book or online. Inform them that you are available to sing at weddings and refer them to your website.
9 Visit churches in your neighborhood and give the ministers your card and refer them to your website.
10 Perform frequently so that you become known as a wedding singer.
11 Give it your all when you sing at a wedding. If you are successful, you will be remembered, and will be recommended to others. Give out your business card to potential clients.
